Thomas Hart Benton Home and Studio State Historic Site

If you go to Roanoke, visit Thomas Hart Benton Home and Studio Historic Site. It’s the only museum in the area and was established in 1977. You can enter the site from 10 am to 4 pm.

Thomas Benton was a popular painter, writer, and sculptor. He lived and worked here. In 1975 Tomas Benton passed away here. A few years after that, it was opened for the public to see the late Thomas Hart Benton collection.

Inside the museum, you’ll find a lot of Benton’s paintings. Some of his masterpieces are carefully exhibited here. Every year, a lot of travelers come here to see his works.

One of the most interesting parts of the museum is the art studio. It’s nearly 50 years after his death, and the studio is still the same as he left. You’ll find coffee cans with paintbrushes and some unfinished canvas waiting to be masterpieces.
